Kind of an oxy moron, don't you think?
I think this calls for the invention of a new word:
Blandard - noun: A standard that nobody feels compelled to adhere to.
Another recently invented word I like is "Anticipointment". The definition of this one is obvious, and unfortunately often relevant to 3D software releases. Here's a usage example:
"I am in no way implying a sense of anticipointment at the release of XSI 5.1, so please don't assume as such!"
