Extract Polygons(delete) not working

Subject : Extract Polygons(delete) not working

hey guys

i am having this strange problem that when i use the Extract Polygons(delete). it sometimes deletes the original one but most of the time it does not. I dont understand what can be the problem & I dont remember if i have to switch on/off some option somewhere.I have tried this on both 5.0 and 5.1 but the result is the same.

What say you?
