Actually, I'm absolutely sure it didn't change. We've been working with
dotXSI 3.6 for years, and there were no changes to the file format up to
now, that's why it still is called version 3.6.
Softimage introduced dotXSI v5 with XSI v5; Rob, is it possible that you
accidentially tried to import a dotXSI v5 file into XSI v4.2?
On the other hand, there is a bug in the 64bit XSI v5 build where bone
chains don't get plotted correctly for dotXSI v3.6. However, this bug
applies to the 64bit version only...
Cheers!

I'm surprised! A format such as .xsi shouldn't change between software
versions.

I tried this once with v5.0 and v4.2 and it didn't work. Probably too much
of a difference between versionformats....

Sent this yesterday, but it never got through.
Could you export the elements to .XSI then import them into 5.01? Unless
changes have been made to the format, it should work, shouldn't it?

Can I open a file in XSI 5.01 after it as been saved in 5.1?
