Hi,
Apply a texture to an object, then go into the FXtree and under Clips, select that texture. Now you have a FromClip & ToClip which you can get between. e.g. put a gradient node or filter between the two fxtree nodes & get realime feedback on the textured object.
I've found it very useful for altering things like emssion maps for particles, hair etc. I was using the wipes with noise for basic waves with the push op recently, all good fun.
There's a whole chunk of fiddling to do in the Transition->SMPTEWipe node.
