Workaround is to use the Transform 3D node instead. More clicks but it works.

I had that as well in 5.0. Is that when you are cropping a clip from the Clips menu?

Am I missing something really obvious here, or does the FxTree Crop node just not work correctly?
 
I crop an image and when output, it retains the right & top crops, but just slaps black in the place where the bottom and left crops are (instead of actually cropping that is).
