For Clip-based modifications you can apply offset effects, though you
might have a hard time inverting a movement this way. They're better
suited for in-the-flow modifications.

Clips do not contain fcurves, they are just an instantiation of a source onto the mixer. It's a pointer to the source, plus a time control property.
So when you're modifying the fcurves, you're modifying all the clips that are using that source.
