Thanks a lot!

If you want a convenient way to open AVI's & QT's in the Flipbook then create a flip.bat in the same place as xsi.bat
(probably in C:\Softimage\XSI_5.1\Application\bin )

It will look a bit like this --------------------------------
(at)echo off
call "C:\Softimage\XSI_5.1\Application\bin\setenv.bat"
start "" "C:\Softimage\XSI_5.1\Application\bin\flip.exe" %*
---------------------------------

Then when you right-click on an AVI use the "Open With..." -> Choose Program option, then navigate to where flip.bat is and select it. Now flip.bat will be one of the remembered ways to open that file when you use "Open with..". This works with any other XSI supported image & movie format.

You can tick the "Always use selected programme to open this kind of file" option, which will mean you just have to double click the file to open it in the flipbook. I've done this for .pic's as the normal Windows viewer won't open them and the flipbook is nice & quick. Also, once the file is opened in the flipbook, if you go to Open a new sequence, flipbook will remember which directory you just opened the image from. Handy if you have a number of sequences in the same directory and want to see them listed by sequence name rather then by scrolling through all the numbered frames.

Adam.
