Hey Joey,
That does sound crazy,
another problem I forgot to mention also is that if I am running QuickTime
while XSI is open I also get a crash. I was using those digital tutors
training cds a while back and every time I played one of the videos, XSI
would just disappear after a few minutes of working, even while the videos
where paused.

Subject: Re: XSI crashes frequently
Experiencing similar difficulties here. What's odd is that it
started
this week. For months XSI has been incredibly stable. Now it can be just
sitting there, doing nothing and crash. It has happened overnight ever
night since Monday without fail. Yesterday I was on a phone call, wasn't
even touching the mouse, bang, XSI pops up a dialog alerting me that it
has had some kind of failure and within several minutes XSI is gone.
What's odd is it provides ample time to save scripts and the like but
then eventually freezes.
This is occuring on XSI5.0 WinXP SP2. The computer is a Boxx system,
8206 I think, it has Intel XEON. I still have XSI 4.2 installed on this
machine and I am seeing similar failures during this same time period
since Monday of RaySatXSI4_2server. Significant changes to the computer
this week include a Windows XP update and an installation of Point Oven
for Maya, I have installed a self-installing plugins I wrote, and I have
recently connected the SDK Example workgroup. WinXP Event Viewer shows
that the XSI 5.0 failure has happend 5 times since Monday. Here are the
results:
*Twice XSI bombed right as I logged into the machine that morning.
*Yesterday afternoon it failed twice within 15 minutes of eachother,
then again an hour later.
*One failure of 4.2 server occurred 154 seconds after XSI 5.0
failed.
*Another failure of 4.2 server failed at 141 seconds after XSI 5.0
failed.
*In 8 days of 40,425 XP logged events these XSI related errors are
the
only logged errors in XP.
I don't see how these two apps should be tied together and a
difference
of less than 14 seconds two days apart of 4.2 server crashing right
after XSI 5.0 does not strike me as a coincidence. Anyone have any
ideas?
