Hi Joey,

I also reliably experience crashes when I reboot, remove or
disconnect a machine listed in the rayhosts file while having
XSI//GUI open on the master machine and then starting a
renderegion. (one master, two slaves, XP/w2k, one user)

To me, it seems the rayhostsfile is only read at GUI startup,
the connections are expected to stay active, e.g. no way of
adding or removing a satellite without restarting XSI//GUI
on the master.

I usually try toi avoid hassle by making sure the machines are
available through ping or the networkbrowser before I start
an interactive XSI session.

It´s still a bummer. There should be a refresh rayhosts toggle...

tim
