The new toggle is a pain but I like the feature so much I mapped it to a
hotkey instead.

you're not alone.
I managed to re-train myself into kinda using this, but it makes very 
little sense compared to the old one.

the old behaviour with just the addition of the new option ticks in the 
menu would have been perfect, but I guess Soft won't backpedal easily on

an interface change that already reached the audience.
