Thanks!! It was the Pixel Parser node I couldn't find (and I doubt I
would have figured out the _expression_)!! Though this does the trick, It would be good if the depth of field node actually did something usefull. Thanks again!! Chris Luc-Eric Rousseau wrote: First load the .Zpic in the compositor. Then add a Pixel Parser node. type in the formula : 1-((1-pixel)*100000)/a1 Now, using the "a1" slider you can narrow down the ZPic around 0 to 30 (the distance in Softimage Units). Type in a greater value if appropriate. Set the output to 8 or 16-bit if it's float. You can fine-tune the contrast by adding a Luma Adjust node.-----Original Message----- From: owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM [mailto:owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM]On Behalf Of Chris Marshall Posted At: Thursday, April 27, 2006 5:44 AM Posted To: xsi Conversation: dof in fx tree Subject: dof in fx tree I'm using a zpic run in the fxtree with the depth of field node, but I need to create some extreme dof effect, which this isn't doing. I've played with all sorts of settings, and even linked 6 dof nodes together, but still not what I want. Can I convert the zpic to a gray scale and run it all through a gausian blur?
