this may do what you want. If not it's pretty easy to modify to include new tokens. If your scripting isn't up to it give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.

I would like to have a text object display information about my
scene dynamically. For instance, I'd like to be able to see a value for how
far the camera is off the ground. Would I use a scripted op on the Text
object? I haven't gotten into scriptedOps yet.
