Subject : problem with ray length

Hi guys,

I’m using Raylength->GradientMixer to basically control a colour fade as the camera points down the inside of a tube(A), so that the colour mix is in relation to the camera position,  which works great.  Then I put another layer of geometry inside (tube B) that has a fractal controlling transparency to get an extra layer of highlights/mucus.   What I find is that the presence tube B cancels out the RayLength->Gradient effect on tube A.  Am I making sense?  Is this normal?  Anyone got any suggestions for how to get round it?

Cheers,

 Olly : )
