Distance to Camera Shader

Subject : Distance to Camera Shader
Is there a shader that can be applied to a material that works like the constant density shader? I have a shared material on several objects, I would like them to get more transparent are they get farther away from the camera. I though of using an _expression_ but how would that work on a shared mat?
