Perhaps you have the slide along normal toggled on? It's the little magnet
icon down at the bottom there.

Ohhh, thanx wayne. One other thing I'd like the
move-point tool to work in all axis currently it's like it's
restricted to one axis YET all 3 axis are selected in the MCP panel.
