Have you tried to use the particle gradient in your render tree for the alpha animation?

A simple request?.

 

Particles that alpha fade over time ? easy.

 

Particles that pick up colour from emitter texture map ? easy.

 

Particles that do both ? impossible without employing a bloke to code something on my behalf?

 

Fairly sure I?m not missing something here - but if I am feel free to shout at me.

 

Anyone done it straight from the box?
