I second that idea too.
for exactly the same reasons (inferno incredibly slow loading of pics.)
here the animators are encouraged to work their linetests in .jpg also
(saves space on disks)
there's still a bug in the fxtree that remains (I checked that in 5.1) :
>set the image format to .tiff
>duplicate your pass
>go to the fxtree and Get the duplicated pass from the "Passes" menu
>the file path of the node is:
"Render_Pictures\Default_Pass1_Render.#.pic.tif" ....
(this is happening only on the duplicated pass)
Hello,
Would be nice (since we now can chose between PAL/NTSC etc.) in the
preferences if we also could have the option to chose image format for
our preferences. Where I work we don't use SoftimagePIC at all since
the parser for Flame is so slow... so we use TIFF for all of our work.
But now and then you forget to change from the default setting and you
end up with the "wrong" image format.
Same thing when you forget to change the setting when you are doing a
rendermap (since Photoshop naitivly doesn't handle SoftimagePIC), and
you then need to reformat the image to another format (since I most of
the time forgot where to download or where I put that soft plugin for
Photoshop).
Anyhooo... it would be nice. I hope more people would think the same.
best regards
stefan andersson
