Wow.. another Toaster owner on here??   We're a rare breed..

I was just looking for a simple firewire output pipe.. similar to the one built-in with AfterEffects and Lightwave   A shader sounds like an interesting way to go.. just would have no idea where to start...

I got it working on a Newtek Video Toaster about a year ago. I wrote a mental ray shader to capture the frame and send it out. It worked okay, but it broke with the latest version of Mental Ray and I haven't had time to fix it.

So it is possible to use other hardware solutions, but it does take a bit of work.

You can only do it with Avid Mojo as far as I know. I tested on once, it was pretty cool but questionable if it's worth the price. I would have considered getting one if I could have gotten it to work with After Effects too.

Is this possible with Soft?  I see a digital monitor output setting in preferences, but it seems to require AVID hardware..
