rendertree addons not rendering

Ever since i updated to 5.1 my workgroup plugins won't render anymore.  i 
can render fine locally but when i net render with royal render, the 
materials show up as the scene material.  i have the workgroup defined in 
the pref>data management area, and the setenv.bat.  basically everything is 
the same as when i was using 5.0.  my question is has anything changed with 
5.1 where i would need to do more to get this to work or prehaps something 
else?
