alternatively that slider is connected to your min and max samples in the "view render options" region>options.
a little segue into a quirk in xsi... the title of the render region options ppg is "view render options" which is found under region>options. i instinctively call them "region options" or "render region options" why the inconsistency?

Anyone else ever have the little control that lets you configure the quality of the render range stop showing up? I am talking about the little slider that shows up next to the top right of the render range (IPR).
Sometimes it will just not show up again until I quit XSI.
