Also, make sure that the Reference Models' Mixer option is turned on in
the model property panel. Without that, mixer animation you do will not
save upon reload.
That's a very good point - even though the shape manager is a nicer
interface for shape anim, it is still the mixer.
On a reference model not ever having to go into the mixer (becasue you're
using the SM) means the "local properties to save" flag may never get
checked.
