ok i THINK i found it.
i reference a model in with shape keys on a lot of clusters. the shape
weights of th emixer are linked to curve controls.
1. scenario:
i reference in and do NOT activate the mixer at "local modifications
on save"
everything is fine. i animate the controls and it still is intact
after the next reload.
2. scenario:
same reference, buti activate the mixer. animate and save.
upon the next load of the scene i get the error and the connection
from the controls to the mixer is broke. i STILL can animate inside
the mixer the weights and see the result in the viewport!
3. scenario:
same reference, i activate the mixer but DEACTIVATE shapes/audio at
the mixer modifications.
animate, save, load
and its all fine! i didnt test the animation tracks yet but hope they
will work, because i need them :)
so, to me it seems that there is a logic behind this, that overwrites
something in the shapes and kills the connection. i dont see it as a
bug but on the other hand something that should bein the manuals? or
does it explain itself if i combine several things i should know about
xsi from the books?
Jeff, i experienced the same when switching low/medium rez models. in
my case i had to load the low rez into the medium rez slot. then the
low rez into the low rez slot and THEN the medium into the medium
slot. otherwise i lost animations on the way when switching.
strangely enough, my medium rez model with full envelope has a faster
viewport playback rate then the low rez which is just broken meshes
and a enveloped head for the faceial animations.
34 to 31 fps... wierd....
