*sigh* I'm with you ;)
Just out of curiosity, can you tell whether or nor turning primary rays off on an instanced object would work?

I actually moved the camera twice the distance of the reflective
surface, so they end up where the particles should've been in the
reflection to get the shot out :-) but I'd like this to work..!

Sorry it's totally unrelated...
I always got problems with prim rays and particles. In case it's of any
help, I think we ended up making a seperate pass for masking the
particles in the frame. Lame workaround but I have nothing better to suggest ;-) Arvid, there's a switch somewhere that orient the particle to the incoming ray.
Look for incoming ray under the ptype.

After some more testing I found why I couldn't see any reflections
of the particles in that particular scene, while it seemed to work in
other scenes, it's something with the view angle. But I have no idea
what the cause is, looks like a bug of some sort. I think I've nailed
the problem as shown the screenshot below. I'll upload this scene if
anyone's interested.

however I'm able to turn off secondary, but that doesn't help me :-)
I'm trying to make a reflection-only pass of my particles. Any ideas?
