So last night I was rendering using a batch file to call xsibatch -r
repeatedly to render a number of passes. I come in this morning to find
XSIBatch stuck at the very end of one of the passes. It got all the way
through the render--all the way to 'setUserPref "SCR_RTMSG_ENABLED", true'
Then it just sat there. It did not move on to the next xsibatch command
and my project did not finish rendering.
Does this happen often? Reliable rendering is key to any 3D app. This is
an XSI Advanced setup with the satelite rendering. Perhaps in a few job we
can move up to the other distributed rendering options. I did not fully
understand just what came with XSI Advanced... You would think it would
come with the full batch rendering... But perhaps it is like the fact that
"Maya Complete" is, indeed, incomplete. (Stupid name on their part.)
