We've had this problem chronically in XSI 5.1. It seems like certain scene files will render without problem, but certain ones hang when the render finishes so that our render farm thinks that the render node is still occupied and never assigns it a new task. Very very irritating. We reported the bug to Softimage and they have apparently repaired it in release 5.11. We're testing the fix today, in fact. I'll post later to let you know how it goes..

Hmm. OK. I will give that a shot. I am indeed not using .exe, and, come to
think of it, when support told me how to use xsibatch I think they did say
to use the .EXE.
