"Sub-D and Displace" was an awesome plug-in, I used it
for a relief mapped globe, the kind you would see in a
school or a library.  Displacement took forever, so
tried using it instead.  I got really great results
when I figured out you could use it on selected
polygon regions.  So I would run the sub-d part once,
see where the areas I need to refine, select those
polys, and run it a few more times, then let the
displacement part of the tool run.  With some trial
and error with the settings (doing it with low
settings multiple times and freezing it worked better
than setting them high once), I had a really great
looking globe with very little geo over the ocean and
tons on the landmasses that needed it.

Anyone know what happened to it?  I can't recall
exactly who wrote it, but I think it was Helge
(apologies if it wasn't, I'm guessing), or one of the
other prolific nice-guy geniuses out there who
generously share their hard work.
