Kind of, the refresh problem also applies to static actions as well as
fcurve actions whose contents get modified via scripting. Hmm, looks
like yet another session of scripting around the mixer... bahh...
Anyways, many thanks for pointing to the docs, I'd never imagined this
behaviour is meant by design...
Cheers!

From the doc:
*Modifying Action Sources***
After you have created an action, you can modify the animation data
stored in its source. When you modify the source, you change the
animation for all instances (action clips) that refer to that source.
Action clips containing function curves are updated immediately, but
action clips containing expressions or constraint animation keep a
local copy of the data and do not refer to the source — changing
expressions or constraints in a source affects only new clips
instanced from that source.
Does this help?

Hi!
We're currently trying to manipulate an existing mixer setup by
editing the action source values directly (static action sources).
Unfortunately XSI seems to cache the source values for instantiated
action clips in the mixer and completely refuses to update the action
clip. The only way to make XSI accept the new source values seems to
be re-instantiating the the action source in the mixer, which is
exactly what we desperately trying to avoid.
So, anyone came across a possibility to refresh action clips? Thanks
in advance for any ideas on this topic!
