Hi Joe,

128bytes is sufficient to grab these files :-) they're all exactly 128
- though I too delete everything smaller. Still keeping it the
smallest possible limits the possibility of damage.

Cheers,

Alan.

Kim, thanks. This looks great. There is one thing that would make a nice addition, if posible: when you render using skip frames XSI creates a very small file when it first starts rendering (like <512byte). This file has the name and number of the current frame. If the frame fails to render (crashes, etc.) it leaves that file in place. The presence of this file prevents that frame from being rendered when using skip frames.

So what I have been doing is using a simple perl script to scan the
directory and delete any files < 512 bytes. I run this after each call to
xsibatch. So I no the cruft is always cleaned up. I don't know if it would
be possible for your plugin to do this or not. If so, that would be great.

BTW, I am happy to share the perl program, but it is a hack right now. You
call it with the name of a directory, and it deletes any file in that
directory that is smaller than 512bytes. This could be dangerous if used
wrong ;-). If anyone wants it I can post a link.

Thanks again,
