If JahPlayer doesn't do it, Cinelerra does many things with audio too,  
I've not managed to load image sequences, but mpgs fine.

Bit heavy for what you asked but best thing I know. JahShaka I'll  try  
here sometime too, maybe it has evolved from what I did read about year  
ago.
