Subject : WeightMap on a lattice
Is there any way to apply a weightmap to a lattice?

I am using a Shape Jitter on a lattice. I then use that lattice to deform an object. I would like the deformations to the final object to be limited based on a weightmap (which is currently on the end object). The Lattice Op on the end object does not let you map the deformation based on a weightmap. But the Shape Jitter Op on the lattice does. So I thought perhaps I could create a weightmap on the lattice, and use The LM weight tools to make a weightmap based on the distance to the points in the weightmap on the end object. Then I could limit the Shape Jitter with the weightmap.

I tried selecting only some of the point of the lattice and applying the shape jitter to those points. This *almost* works. But there is not enough falloff between the affected area of the end object and the unaffected area. My lattice is kind of dense (and needs to be).

Any thoughts on getting a lattice deformation controlled by a weightmap, or anything similar?

Thanks,
