nacho,
i think eric has made a good proposal here. all manufacturers get their
hardware from somewhere. the key is to know where they have it from....

in fact i am building a new workstation right now. i have checked boxxtech
and alienware to choose my components and buy them for myself now at
hardware purchase price. sure, there is the risk that something expensive do
not work together, but for the money i save i enter the risk.

Hey Nacho,

If you're buying a Boxx or Alienware lappy, you're
paying a premium too.

Those are the same as the Sager 9750, 9890 series
notebooks.  http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html

They are all made by an OEM company called Clevo.
Sagers tend to be cheaper, but the same hardware as
the other two.

I own an older Sager, and I've been very happy with
it.  I've referred a few people to this company and
they have all be very happy with them as well.

Check out www.notebookforums.com.  Lots of great info
here about all kinds of notebooks.  The guy who runs
it really knows his stuff.
