Cheers. I’m also having problems with the AddWritableImageSource when
used from jscript, if it’s of interest. Vbs syntax error thrown somewhere
around the place it’s calling the SI version. From:
owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM [mailto:owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM] On Behalf Of Halfdan
Ingvarsson Oops. The source, not the clip. Right.
Change the filename in the source before adding a new lightmap shader. I've
logged a bug. -
½ From: owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM on behalf of
Halfdan Ingvarsson Adding a new Color_Sampler shader should create a new source. If
that's not what's happening then something's up with your install. I just tried
it on a fresh install of 5.0, 5.1 and 5.1 SP1 and they all create a new source
for each instance of the Color_Sampler shader. -
½ From: owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM on behalf of kim
aldis Anyway, some observations, seeing’s it appears to be something
of a mess: AddWritableImageSource() fails with an error in some VBS code
somewhere SI SIAddWritableImageSource() works but doesn’t returns a value so
no jscript. Wrapped it in a vbs command but even so. As already mentioned, adding lightmaps shares sources. Adding more than one lightmap to a scene is fraught with peril From:
owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM [mailto:owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM] On Behalf Of kim
aldis As is always the way, 30 seconds after hitting the send button I
find the answer. AddWritableImageSource() Sorry for
the noise. From:
owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM [mailto:owner-xsi(at)Softimage.COM] On Behalf Of kim
aldis I’m struggling here a bit adding lightmaps
to material. Fine with the first but when you add the second lightmap the image
source is shared with the first making it difficult to change what the lightmap
is writing to without changing where the first map writes to. Simply creating a
new clip for the second lightmap isn’t enough because it needs a writeable
image source. There doesn’t seem to be a method for creating a writeable image
source so I’m a bit stuffed. There seems to be a great deal of potential
for overwriting existing textures with this workflow, or am I missing something
obvious? Anyone done any of this, had any luck? Cheers. |
