well the lag is just this button at the moment, everything else is fine i can use my wacom tablet as a mouse pad now, so picking up my pen to use the tablet doesn't require me to remove my mouse pad.. opticals dont work right on this surface. hence the laser

I would personally avoid wireless mice altogether. They all lag. I even tried a superduperhighspeed gaming mouse that wasn't supposed to do it. Well, it's collecting dust in my box of nerdiness now.

I know it's not a true 3 button mouse but this is what I have at home now and I loooove it. All the buttons are programmable.

i just bought microsoft's wireless laser 6000, is great! except the middle mouse button actually has a delay. its really pissing me off so a warning to any 3d artist you need to avoid this mouse. unless there is a way to speed up the reaction time of that click. so far i dont see the options in any of the mouse options

I use the MX1000 as well and I setup the scroll wheel to middle click when I
push it to the left (it has a left/right scroll with the scroll wheel). It
feels pretty natural as it actually clicks when push the scroll wheel to the
left or right. It's also wireless and works flawlessly.

The Logitech  MX1000 is excellent. It has a wheel, but it also has smaller
buttons in front of and behind the wheel which can be reprogrammed for use
with apps which require good middle mouse button support.
