easiest way for now would be to emerge --depsonly xsi with whatever
version is there and then just use the usual install.
I've done a lot of heavy rewriting of the ebuild for the next version,
but stopped before it was finished.

Tried to edit it, commented out md5sums that weren't available and
replaced 5.0.1 with 5.11. Didn't work went to sleep, seems there is some
reading to do to get used to Gentoo.
