Subject : [simulation] syflex, getting a target shape
I was wondering if anyone has had much experience with syflex, and in
that experience were able to come up with some sort of rest goal or
target goal shape that the syflex geometry tries to achieve. It seems
great for really great for loose flowing dangling cloth. However it if I
have a particular shape I want it to try and achieve when it comes to
rest. There really isn't out of the box solution for that. I was
thinking probably the best solution atm is to have a duplicate geometry
that is un-sim'd and have that modeled in the desired rest pose, then
attach syflex spring forces between the posed geometry and the simmed
geometry. However my concern is that might get a wee bit of the heavy
side, and I was wondering if there is a more intellegent approach.

Well if anyone has any savvy Ideas, I'd love to hear them.

thanks

Greg
