Hey Lyal,

Shape animation is basically recording where geometry points are in relation to the centre of the object.  I’ll bet that the centres of your objects are all over the place so before you Select Shape Keys, make sure that you have done Transform->Move Centre To Vertices for each object.

Subject: Shape Keys Relocating?

Hi all, I imported some models from 3ds into XSI as OBJ’s. They all have the same poly count, when I select Deform>Shape>Select Shape Key, I select the corresponding models to shape animate. When I adjust the sliders in the shape manager my base model changes shape but slides across the screen to where the shape it is deforming into is located. How do I stop the base model from relocating?

Thanks in advance for your replies

Lyal
