No.  Remember though that everything they show us is a "tech preview".  
I imagine the stuff they show us is pretty far along so that means they 
have to release it in a given amount of time.  Something thats still in 
some early phase of development, can't be shown to the public so who 
knows.

Nothing has changed.  Imagine going to a drop down menu like passes and 
selecting a new "layer".  When you do so, the timeline goes blank so you

can add a new layer of animation.  As soon as you add a keyframe, a key 
appears in the timeline and a clip appears in the mixer.
