It would be nice to turn collapsing  on & off and have XSI remember which viewing mode was last applied to which folder.
 
In fact it would be nice if the XSI browser could also borrow some bits from Explorer such as:
 
1. Remembering the viewing mode per folder, whether thumbnails or icons.
2. Being able to edit the sort fields in the Detail mode and adding such things as the image dimensions, date created.
3. Creating a thumbnails file so that you can see them instantly. Good for large images & HDR/OpenExr

I'm not so sure it would be that. The files have to be scanned for display
regardless of whether they're going to be collapsed and sorting I think
you'd have to try pretty hard to make that slow.
