I forgot to mention the workaround I'm currently using is to subdivide then
select each loop and 0 scale it in X. That's fine for like 1 or 2 but when I
wind up having a ton of loops to fix this way it's time consuming. Is there
a way to get XSI to do it right the first time that I just don't know about?

Subject: subdivide edge withOUT warped loops

Hey guys,
I'm running into a prob that I've encountered on many an occasion and want
to know if there is a workaround or method I don't know about to alleviate
the issue. I have a set of edge rings selected, and upon shooting a loop via
Subdivide Edges (shift d)the loop is "warped". It becomes more pronounced
the more subdivisions I give it. I know the knife/slice tool [ will give me
straight edges...but I have other bits of geo in the way that get sliced as
well which I don't really want. Is there any way to get the subdivide edge
op to subdivide the edges evenly without the weird warping? I've provided an
image of what I mean if my explanation was a bit foggy.

Thanks!
