Is there any way to get sub frame event emission of particles? I have an event that changes PTypes upon collision (Emit and Disappear). The collision is used with no elasticity, more of a trigger than a collision.

When my new PType is emitted it has a very stratified look, like it is only emitting on whole frames. I find now way to get event based emission to do sub-frame.

Any dieas?

in a word, no

this has been one of the major failings of me for particles, all the other stuff i can work around, but subframe
event emmisions/events are a killer.....

OK. At least I am not crazy. This is a SERIOUS limitation Hopefully the Softimage folks will stick this into the next release...

essentially you have to do your simulation over more frames, slower... then blend the frames in the fxtree or afterfx or something

This was what I was going to try, but I was able to get acceptable results for my use by increasing the spread, azimuth, declination, and birth offset variances. This worked because my shot sees the particles from a bird's eye view, and the variances in height cannot be distinguished.
