Hi Daniel,

I think maybe there is some confusion here - .3ds is the format for the previous incarnation of 3DStudio Max – it has nothing to do with the old Soft3D format.

 

You should be able to import your old Soft3D scenes, in the .hrc or .dsc format

Hi Daniel,

.3ds is a scene format (old 3d studio), because of that there is no reason that you cannot  import a complete scene.
Try it with some "poor" free .3ds file got in 3dcafe site (see attached file)

3ds import seem to be incorporated with XSI 5.11. Does anybody as been able to import more than one object in one shot. I need to import In ‘ol Soft3d save a scene and open it in XSI.
