Quad cores will be out in the next few months, but I
know for a fact that the Core 2 Duo's are kicking the
crap out of the AMD chips by a very big margin.

tomshardware.com has a review and benchmarks.

You should look at getting the very latest Xeon Dual
core chips, as they are a 2nd gen dual core CPU, I
dont recall which one's they are, so the one you have
listed may be it.
