Hi guys,
I´ve some downtime the first two weeks of October
and would like to use that time to brush up my XSI
skills (been using Maya only all summer) as well as
look into the latest developments announced at the
latest Siggraph. I´m especially interested in stuff like:
*(Semi)automated meshgeneration from setphotos
and sequences, digitally recreating existing locations.
*Texturegeneration from the above inputfootage,
maybe even normalizing textures to allow for
varying lighting situations by adding light via 32bit files.
*Rebuilding realworld cameras in such a 3D environment
*A Realtime crosslinks between a custom inputdevice
(something like the wii stick) and a 3D camera, for
easily panning, tilting, rolling and banking a camera
in 3D space, like having a GPS sensor attached to
a real Camera or a TablettPC and using that for
moving around a 3D world, seeing things update.
Like what the Weta guys did for Peter Jackson
choreographing the CaveTroll fight seq. in LOTR
using Motioncapture but with less overhead on the
equipment required to make this work. What app?
Anyone else currently also looking into this?
Either from the games sector or the augumented
reality sector? Something fundamental I missed?
Cheers
tim
