THANK you! I kept reading the help doc and thinking the clipping plane was for the "camera" view only. Im guessing the user view IS a camera view minus the grey sides the typical cam view has? Again, thanks a lot Karen and Robert. Really brightened my day.

The grey borders you see are only there because cameras have an aspect ratio. User views don’t.  The size of the borders will vary with the camera aspect ratio. The aspect ratio can be adjusted in the camera properties page if you wish to.

 

All views have clipping planes.
