Greg Punchatz demo'd a nifty UV relax trick during his booth
presentation at siggraph. It basically involved duplicating your source
mesh, using the smooth polygon tool, then transferring the UV's back via
GATOR.
I'm probably leaving out a step or two, but the idea might get you going
in the right direction. Or perhaps Greg would list out the specific
steps for us.
