disappearing objects in shaded view

Subject : disappearing objects in shaded view

Hey all, I have an object that disapears when I subdivide it... only in the view port when I have shaded selected, I can still render the object and I can still select it from the explorer. I've had this problem many times in the past and I don't have a repro to do it again, but I was wondering if anyone had a way of fixing this problem.
