i've seen this behavior when you select something in the viewport and then you try to shift select in the explorer
and if you think about it has its "logic" because you dont have a first selection on the explorer.
but its still annoying.


if you do it all in the explorer i think it doesn't occur.

shift selecting objects has also been a pain.. and clicking the explorer has become a habit also
