Re: full on crash

tried the open GL (this being the easiest of offered solutions) this didn't 
help :o(

will get Alan to have a look at the other suggestions regarding 
kde/windowmaker/raw X etc
next week (lucky git is on holiday!)

thanks to all, will post a working solution when i find one!
