Does anyone know of any tutorials on tracking live action footage in XSI. I am working on a scene where we have this series of live action shots, some static, some pans and pushes but the ones that are killing me are these jib arm shots that travel about 8' in height while panning, pushing and tilting simultaneously. I told the guys to try and limit their movement...did they listen, No. They are mostly exterior shots and there are no marks to go by. I have this streamer/ribbon thing with a trailing light (similar to the new iPod nano commercial) that flies through the various scenes around trees, people and buildings. I used to use Maya live which had camera tracking but I can't find any references for a similar solution in xsi. I'm running
5.11 (x64) and I had made basic primitives to match the ground plane and buildings, trees etc for reference but unfortunately this is not an exact science. My composite still seems to float and the different perspective, and live action vs. xsi camera really exaggerates any subtle differences. I have tried the tracking in the compositor but I am not too happy with the result. I need a pre post solution within the 3d environment
Thanks
John
