I figured it was something similar.. using a 3D car fill in the reflections - but I was wondering if there was a comp package that could do something like that natively

hi,
track in a 3d car, render a reflection pass from an environment built from either a light probe or reference photos, comp it in there..
Getting rid of the green reflection is usually just a matter of pulling a key (if necessary) and suppressing the green.

I was watching the making of a Tuareg commercial on the King Kong DVD and the car had a great deal of reflections from the greenscreen backdrop it was shot on. The vfx artist being interviewed said that they would replace these reflections with NYC reflections in post - I was just wondering how this is done. THe finished commercial had those reflections cleanly replaced and warping to the cars contours as it rotated for the camera - nicely done
Anyone have any ideas what software is used, techniques.. where we can find out more?
